With three decades of experience in the aviation industry, Paul Gibson served as a pilot for the WLRHS for two years before taking over the reins as Chief Pilot in 2015. As chief pilot he is responsible for the safe and effective operations of helicopter services.
“The Westpac Helicopter is a regular and iconic sight along Queensland’s coastline each year and, for me personally, it’s a great honour to be chief pilot of the service. We continue to look for areas to build upon and improve our helicopter services, which ultimately feed back into helping Surf Life Saving Queensland achieve its vision of ‘zero preventable deaths in Queensland public waters’.”
